The Journey Ahead
“Mastery is the best goal because:
The rich can’t buy it
The impatient can’t rush it
The privileged can’t inherit it, and
Nobody can steal it.
You can only earn it through hard work. Mastery is the ultimate status.”
-Derek Sivers
Hi Friends! Happy 2025!
These posts will house insights, lessons, and reflections on investments and the economy that have inspired me over decades of reading, learning, and experiencing the world.
My goal is simple: to share what I know and learn so you can compound your wealth and personal development.
Whether it’s dissecting a book that changed my perspective, sharing investment lessons learned from history, or exploring how economic and human psychology forces shape our decisions, this blog will reflect and record my ongoing journey of learning and curiosity.
Here’s a general structure: I post five days a week. Monday through Thursday I write about serous investment and financial planning topics.
For these serious posts, I might write about the market moves of the day (e.g., how inflation expectations have affected home ownership) or about markets and economics more fundamentally (e.g., the stock market tends to be positive ~50% on a daily basis but is positive ~100% on a per decade basis).
Friday posts will cover quotes or ideas from a book I’m reading that week.
“Not all readers are leaders,” Harry Truman stated, “But all leaders are readers.”
I love charts. I love explaining things simply. Expect lots of that.
I hope A Wealth of Wisdom will resonate with you, spark your thoughts, and encourage conversations about topics that matter.
I believe in the power of compounding—not just in wealth but also in knowledge and wisdom. I’m glad you’ve joined me on this journey.
So, welcome! Let’s uncover a wealth of wisdom together!
Onwards!
